This is my love letter to Boston. I'll be making illustrations of my favorite places in Boston throughout the month of May (AKA, Preservation Month). I'll be raffling off a print every weekend. A donation to my campaign enters you into the raffle. You can see my progress here.

This quote is from Illinois Landmarks, but it resonates true for all preservation, "Historic places are more than buildings, they are the story of what remains through resilience and defiance against inequitable policies."

Let's not let our history or our neighborhoods become homogenized. 

1 Bay Street. This is the last surviving home on Bay Street. The street lends its name to Bay Village, a collection of early 1800s homes built by the craftspeople who constructed Beacon Hill. Is there a place you think I should draw? Let me know on Instagram. @_MADickey_.

For over 40 years the Boston Preservation Alliance has served the residents of Boston as a nonprofit organization that protects and improves the quality of Boston's architectural and cultural heritage.
