Support Greg Galer and the work of the Boston Preservation Alliance

If we've learned one thing over the past year, it's that life constantly throws us curve-balls. Learning how to adjust, to embrace the positives, and to see more clearly what we previously took for granted  -- these are some of the lessons I've personally taken to heart this past year, and ways we've been thinking about our work at the Boston Preservation Alliance too. More than ever Bostonians are recognizing the value of the quirky nooks and crannies of the city, each rooted in the city's past - its architectural evolution and the people that made and make the city the distinctive place we all love. Little pocket parks, benches and stoops where you can have a cup of coffee or lunch, legacy businesses that are core to our neighorhoods, or places to walk and enjoy the sites and stories that permeate the city  - each provide a break from the steady diet of Zoom many of us suffer.

Assuring Boston maintains the distinctiveness of place in its neighorhoods while also supporting the places connected to the stories of all Bostonians is our commitment and daily work. Please join us as partners with your support this Preservation Month. Every little bit helps us continue our work for which so very many benefit. We will leverage your commitment to us with our efforts to make city-wide policies more impactful while we help individual neighbrohoods more effectively manage change and growth to assure that the city embraces from rather than erases its heritage.

Below are some recent photos during my recent meandering in the city: Can you identify where they were taken? One is pretty obvious!

Please join the fun, wander the city, look about and spot something new, and think about why it is the way it is and what that may tell you about Bostonians past and present. Please donate so we can make sure we continue to have places like that and share them with you!

ABOUT Preservation Month | 2021

For over 40 years the Boston Preservation Alliance has served the residents of Boston as a nonprofit organization that protects and improves the quality of Boston's architectural and cultural heritage. Through advocacy and education, we bring people and organizations together to influence the future of Boston's historic buildings, landscapes, and communities.

Without our members, donors, and community partners, our voice would fall silent–a growing membership makes our voice stronger because together we make Boston better.

Check out the projects we're currently engaged in and thank you for your continued consideration and support.

Non-members who donate $60 or greater will receive an annual membership.
