Dear Family, Friends, and Colleagues:

I'm a big fan of stories. They provide insight and perspective, wisdom and truth, history and context.

As a non-native of Boston, stories have been invaluable to me as I get to know and love this city more and more. While some of these have been stories of joy, pride, and human ingenuity, others have been stories of pain, of loss, and of violence. Whether good or bad, these stories form the collective narrative that we all share, one that we actively shape every day.

This is why I was honored to join the Boston Preservation Alliance's Board of Directors. This is an organization who - in my own words - seeks to protect, promote, and preserve the stories that have made this city what it is. After all, every building, every landmark, every plaza has a story. 

As you think about your own Boston story, please consider donating to this great organization that has taken on this great task. 

The past has been given to us, the present is all we have, but the future is what we make of it.

For over 40 years the Boston Preservation Alliance has served the residents of Boston as a nonprofit organization that protects and improves the quality of Boston's architectural and cultural heritage. Through advocacy and education, we bring people and organizations together to influence the future of Boston's historic buildings, landscapes, and communities.

Without our members, donors, and community partners, our voice would fall silent–a growing membership makes our voice stronger because together we make Boston better.
