May is Preservation Month—a time to celebrate Boston's rich architectural and cultural heritage. As a member of the Boston Preservation Alliance's Young Advisors Board, I'm reaching out to ask for your donation. The Boston Preservation Alliance (a 501(c)(3) organization) advocates for the preservation of significant and meaningful structures, landscapes, and neighborhoods in our city.

My time with the BPA has given me the opportunity to reckon with questions of responsible urban living. Whose history is preserved? What defines our city's identity? I care deeply about multiplicity! Preservation isn't just about saving old things; it's about promoting discovery, celebrating diversity, generating housing, caring for our climate, and honoring the creativity of those who came before us.

Your support during Preservation Month ensures the longevity of treasures like the Fort Hill Tower. Living in Roxbury from 2019 to 2023, this Gothic Revival water tower was the highlight of my daily pandemic walks. Long before I knew its historic function, I was drawn to its funky storybook style. Rapunzel, let down your hair! This is a monument to utility, how special and strange!
