Hey Y'all!

While originally from Nashville, Tennessee, I have made Boston my home away from home! As a preservationist, I believe Boston is a fantastic mixture of architectural periods and styles. There is something for everyone here! 

My favorite places offer peace amongst the city's chaos—historic bookstores and cafes, green spaces, and historical and cultural buildings. For me, community is essential because people breathe life into these buildings and give them purpose. Along with the communities, it is essential to protect and maintain these valued buildings as connections to other times and people in the past and to ground us in the future. 

Organizations like the Boston Preservation Alliance have helped ensure that new additions to the city's iconic skyline don't damage its historic fabric. Working with community groups, city leaders, and, most importantly, Boston's residents, the Alliance has helped preserve Boston's incredibly diverse, invaluable built and cultural heritage for over forty years.

I hope you can join me this Preservation Month in helping to support the Alliance's mission to bring communities together and leverage their collective power to protect and celebrate Boston's historic resources. Whether it's $5, $10, $50, or more, your support will ensure the Alliance can continue to have a seat at the table to guide thoughtful change that ensures the stewardship of the historic character that defines Boston. If you're a non-member and donate $20 or more,  you'll get a membership to the Alliance, which includes many other benefits!

To show our appreciation for your generous contribution, we're excited to offer the following donor perks:

1. All donors of $25 or more will be entered into a raffle to win a bespoke hand-embroidered art piece representing a Boston building of your choice!
2. All donors of $50 or more are invited to a rooftop pizza party at the historic South Boston Yacht Club with beautiful views of Dorchester Bay. Date TBD (Summer 2024)
3. All donors of $75 or more will be entered into a raffle to win a free ride for two on @BostonTukTuk to get ice cream or coffee in Boston, Cambridge, or Brookline! 
4. All donors of $100 or more will be entered into a raffle to win two nights at a remote, rustic camp in Grafton, New Hampshire. Small kitchen, living room, and loft with a queen and two twins; no plumbing, but the outhouse is just steps away! Kayaks and fishing gear available for the nearby pond. (Conditions apply)

For 45 years the Boston Preservation Alliance has served the residents of Boston as a nonprofit organization that protects and improves the quality of Boston's architectural and cultural heritage. Through advocacy and education, we bring people and organizations together to influence the future of Boston's historic buildings, landscapes, and communities.
